Mirador is an easy to use Monitoring Dash-Board for the Tibco Hawk Monitoring infrastructure. Tibco Hawk uses distributed agents that communicate together in a fault-tolerant way using the Tibco Rendezvous (or Tibco EMS) infrastructure.
The Mirador application is installed locally. There is however also a MiradorWeb version that stores all monitoring data in a database and can be accessed via a Tomcat/Java Browser interface to chart monitoring data retrospectively. MiradorWeb is not marketed currently, only the Mirador is sold as a product.
The main advantage of Mirador (the client version) is that it is much more intuitive than the GUI that is provided by Tibco (Tibco Hawk Display). The ease-of-use aspect of client version is very strong. The database/webgui version needs extensive setup via database install and custom microagents to be deployed on the Hawk agents. The database version is currently not on our website and we do not intend to market it.
The Mirador product is specific to the Tibco Hawk product and requires Hawk (and also Tibco Rendezvous) to be installed locally. For users of Tibco Hawk it offers a superior user experience. Options to extend to the product towards other infrastructures than Hawk (JMX, SNMP, etc.) have not been evaluated until now, but could be used to move Mirador into non-Tibco markets.
